LESSON: MECHANISMS
PROJECTS OF THE LESSON: In these lesson, we ask you to solve some projects, like a floodgates, sports car, etc. You can get them by clicking on the links you can see below. These projects will give you the chance to put in practice some contents we have studied in class.

LESSON: MATERIALS AND WOOD.
In this lesson, we suggest to do the following projects: a) A recycling container. There are two different notebook projects you could download, one of them is for bilingual students and the other one for no bilingual students.
Another project is about how to design and construct a box to use in many different ways. You will make a decision about that.
PROYECTS NOTEBOOKS: You can get the following documents:
► RECYCLING CONTAINER
► RECYCLING CONTAINER notebook project for bilingual group
► BOX PROJECT
LESSON: ELECTRICITY
OBJECTIVES:
► Identify the principal elements of a simple circuit and distinguish the function of each one
► Understand how electric current works in practice and learn about its properties and effects
► Express and communicate ideas and technical solutions related to electricity using appropiate symbols and vocabulary.
► Set up simple electric circuits in series and in parallel, joining the component logically and carefully.
► Analyse, design, make and manipulate materials, objects and simple circuits safety
CONTENTS:
CONCEPTS:
Electric current. Electric circuits. Diagram of electric circuits.
Elements of an electric circuit: generator, receptors and control and protection elements. Measuring instruments.
Effects of electric current. heat, light and motion. Electromagnetic effects.
Electriccquantities. Ohm's law.
Ssfety rules when working with electricity.
Circuits in series and in parallel.
PROCEDURES
Identify the different components of an electric circuits and how each works as a part of the whole.
Solve problems about Ohm's law.
Set up circuits in series and in parallel.
Experiment with and design circuits with a simulator.
ATITTUDES
Respect safety rules when using materials, tools and electric circuit
Lood after and use measuring instruments appropiately
Evaluate criticaly the importance and consequences of using electricity.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Analyse, design and set up simple electric circuits using appropiate symbols
Use a multimeter to measure voltage, current and resistant.
Calculate electric quantities using Ohm's law
Know about converting electrical energy into other forms of energy
Know what safety measures to adops when using electrical devices.
LANGUAGE STRUCTURES:
Present simple: "motors transforms electrical energy into motion"
Present simple passive. "It is transformed into other types of energ"
Modal verbs. Water can flow through a tube"
Comparative: They las longer and are more efficient than incandescent bulbs".
Verb to allow: "Conductors allow electric current to pass throug them".
First conditional. "if there is no voltage, there is no current".
Relative pronouns. "part of the energy that they transport is transformed into heat".
